“When we decided to install a solar system, I got several bids including one from Sun Up Electric which a friend recommended to us. The large organizations like Solar City all had higher prices so I took a chance with this small family owned firm.
This turned out to be a very good decision. They quickly acquired the permits from SMUD and Sacramento County and once the permitting was in place the work got done in just a few days. All of the services you would expect from a major supplier were included, such as an online system so we can monitor our electricity production.
There were other things included however that I’m not sure we would have gotten from a larger firm, such as weather resistant metal flashing that is bolted to the roof joists, keeping the roof water tight and ensuring the panels are securely fastened. Also, my research into the type of panels that were used showed that we were not only paying less, we were getting better quality. This makes sense, since this company doesn’t pay for advertising and marketing or have expensive office overhead.
It is always a risk to go with a small shop but when you find good, honest people you will get better deals than the big corporations can offer. That happened with Sun Up Electric. I recommend them without reservations.”
“I just had a big solar panel installed in my field. The workers, I cannot say enough about. I live in the foothills. My land is on a slant, and nothing but clay and ROCKS, and lots of them. It was a crew of 3. As I sat at computer, I could hear Bob, trying to dig a trench around tree roots and rocks. A break, then again… and again. When I was younger, I also had to deal with this ground. I tried to tip the young man… eek! NO.
Long story short, this crew ROCKED! (no pun intended). Konstantin, Mark, and Bob. They were on time every day even having to travel thru fog for 80 miles each way. Polite, and attentive to my every question. After day 1, I felt relaxed enough to just sit at my puter and let them do their gig. End result… magic. Each one of my tech’s knew their job, and got after it. Just as I did before I retired. The work they produced in 2 days, with rain, mud, rocks and clay. Amazing.
